Happy Thanksgiving 2012

So every year we get together with the Rogers family for Thanksgiving. My side of the family hasn't really had a thanksgiving meal together since my mom died. We still got together every year, but we just did dessert. We wanted to try and pull it off this year and I think we did a good job. It was so great to have all of my siblings together for Thanksgiving. It was bitter sweet, since obviously my mom wasn't there. My sisters Erin and Amanda weren't able to make it either. But it's very rare when EVERYONE is at the same function.

This is the one and only picture that I got at the Rogers thanksgiving family. We got together at Grandma Phyllis's house. I really do love that family. Here's me and Malachi and Grandma Phyllis's house.

I was in charge of the potatoes for both dinners. Someone should have warned me, LOL. It was crazy. I ended up making 10 pounds of mashed potatoes for the Rogers dinner and 20 pounds for the Guthrie dinner. That's 30 whopping pounds of potatoes.

Katie and Dustin dug a pit in the back yard to cook the turkeys. We did two turkeys to be sure we would have enough. Here's the turkey wrapped in foil, fresh out of the pit.

Here are Becca and me with our babies :-) Oh how I love my sisters.

Some of the clan at the Guthrie dinner. These are the ones that were interested in the football game. Katie was nice enough to be the hostess this year.

Notice Becca taking a tiny cat nap.

Here is Auntie Alecia holding Malachi. She loves babies so much. She is a saint. She is going to make such a good mother some day. Hopefully soon, too. We're crossing our fingers.

We ended up doing a combined birthday party for Benny and Abigail for dessert. It is so hard to get our family together since there are so many of us. So we decided to combine it with Thanksgiving this year. Abigail turned 9 on November 4th and Benny turns 6 on December 20th.

Blowing out the candles :-)

I am so glad that we decided to do a Thanksgiving dinner. My mom would have been so proud of us. I have so very much to be thankful for. I am truly blessed.
